Footwork International Dance Organization Elevates Dancesport in Sri Lanka with Landmark Competition

With great pride, the Footwork International Dance Organization announces its next dance competition, which is scheduled for September 8, 2024. This esteemed occasion seeks to raise the bar for Dancesport in Sri Lanka by working with top businesses and organizations in the private sector that are committed to global standards and outstanding branding opportunities.
A variety of dance forms, such as Latin American, Ballroom, and Street Latin dancing, will be featured in the tournament. Sri Lankan dancers will be able to compete at higher levels thanks to this stage, earning valuable experience, confidence, and dance championships. The local dance scene is expected to reach new heights as a result of the event.
The Footwork International Dance Organization was established in 2004 and has led the way in advancing social dance and dancesport in Sri Lanka. For dancers of all skill levels, the organization provides a variety of competitions, workshops, and festivals. Footwork is dedicated to advancing dance scholarship and recognition on an international level.

Footwork was founded by Dharshan Wijesooriya, who has been its visionary leader ever since. Dharshan, the main organizer of the Footwork Dance Championships, is a licensed World Dance Council adjudicator who has judged more than 150 international dance contests in 19 nations.
The upcoming competition is set to be a landmark event in Sri Lanka’s dance calendar. Supported by prominent private sector partners, it will provide dancers with an opportunity to showcase their skills and achieve international acclaim. The competition aims to foster a vibrant dance community in Sri Lanka, encouraging dancers to strive for excellence and gain recognition beyond national borders.
Dancers from across the country are invited to participate and experience the thrill of competing on one of the premier Latin and Ballroom competition stages in Sri Lanka. The event will also feature workshops and masterclasses led by renowned international dancers, offering invaluable learning opportunities for local talent.
