Short Circuit Empowers Internal Leaders to Drive Its Next Phase of Growth

Short Circuit has announced a new group leadership structure, appointing five senior leaders across its portfolio companies. The appointments span Surge Global and Calcey Technologies, the group’s services arm; Payable, its payments business; and SurgeOS, its product division. The appointments mark a deliberate step in the group’s evolution, moving from a founder-driven model towards a broader, leadership-led platform built on internal talent and proven experience.

The new structure brings together Lahiru Dissanayake as CEO, Kasun Delgolla as CTO, and Mevan Perera as CMO of Surge Global and Calcey Technologies, the group's service arm; Yohan Wijesiriwardane as CEO of Payable; and Steve Ludewyke as Chief Product Officer of SurgeOS. Each appointment reflects the group’s longstanding philosophy of identifying, developing, and promoting the leaders who have already helped build the business from within.

Lahiru Dissanayake brings nearly 20 years of enterprise technology experience to the role of CEO of Surge Global and Calcey Technologies, a career built within the group across Pyxle, Trabeya, and Surge Global. Having progressed from Business Analyst to Chief Executive, his expertise spans enterprise architecture, AI, and digital transformation across stock exchanges, government services, retail, and telecoms on six continents.

Kasun Delgolla brings over 14 years of experience in software engineering, enterprise architecture, AI, cybersecurity, and digital transformation to his role as Chief Technology Officer at Surge Global, expanding now to cover Calcey Technologies. Having served as the chief architect behind many of the company's large-scale enterprise programs, his expertise spans cloud-native platforms, AI-powered products, data ecosystems, and secure enterprise architectures across government, BFSI, telecommunications, retail, and enterprise sectors. As CTO, he continues to shape Surge's technology vision and build world-class engineering talent from within.

Mevan Perera brings over 14 years of digital marketing expertise to the role of Chief Marketing Officer of the services business, seven of them spent building the group’s digital strategy capability from within. Progressing from Content Strategist through Strategy Lead to Partner, he developed and led the cross-functional Digital Strategy Blueprint spanning SEO, paid media, content, web development, and analytics, delivering it for clients across the US, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

Yohan Wijesiriwardane co-founded Payable twelve years ago with a clear mandate to make world-class payment infrastructure accessible to every merchant. Under his leadership, Payable grew into a platform processing LKR 6 billion in monthly transactions across 45,000 merchants, delivering industry firsts including South Asia’s inaugural Tap2Phone solution and instant merchant settlements. He is also the first non-bank CEO in Sri Lanka to secure direct funding from both Visa and Mastercard, and now leads Short Circuit’s payments vertical with a proven record of building at scale.

Steve Ludewyke brings over six years of digital transformation leadership to the role of Chief Product Officer of SurgeOS, with a delivery record spanning retail, supply chain, healthcare, and government sectors. Having led operational transformation engagements in Fiji and established regional partnerships in Papua New Guinea, his experience is grounded in practical outcomes across complex environments

Commenting on the appointments, Short Circuit's Group Leadership stated: "Short Circuit has always been built around strong people, not just strong ideas. These appointments reflect our belief that the next stage of growth has to be led by the people who understand the business, our clients, and our markets best. Lahiru, Kasun, Mevan, Yohan, and Steve have each helped build important parts of the group, and this structure gives them the mandate and ownership to take those areas further."

The new leadership structure positions Short Circuit to scale its ambitions across technology, payments, and product, with the depth and accountability required for regional expansion.
