UWS London Representatives Inspire Many Students in Colombo and Kandy
Nevindee Amarasinghe

The recent visit by representatives from the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) London to Sri Lanka concluded on a high note, marking a successful series of student consultations hosted by the Imperial College of Business Studies (ICBS). The events, held on 10th and 11th October at Cinnamon Grand Colombo and on 12th October at Radisson Kandy, drew the participation of over 50 enthusiastic students and parents eager to explore academic pathways at one of the UK’s most forward-thinking universities.
The initiative provided Sri Lankan students with a unique opportunity to engage directly with UWS London’s international team to discuss undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in key fields such as Business, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence. Students gained valuable insights into UK study life, application processes, and scholarships of up to 40%, making higher education in the UK more accessible and rewarding.
The UWS London representatives were impressed by the high level of interest and academic potential among Sri Lankan students, noting that many participants expressed a strong desire to pursue career-focused studies in London’s vibrant global environment. Parents, too, commended ICBS for bridging the gap between Sri Lankan talent and world-class education.
Recognised among the Top 200 Young Universities in the World by Times Higher Education, UWS London continues to attract international students through its commitment to affordability, employability, and student well-being. Through initiatives like these, the university reinforces its mission to empower students to achieve their ambitions and thrive in a global economy.
ICBS, the official representative of UWS London in Sri Lanka, reiterated its dedication to supporting students from inquiry to enrolment—offering continuous guidance on applications, visas, career planning, and post-graduate support.
