NADA Aerobics Gymnastics Academy team delivers outstanding performance at international championships
The NADA Aerobics Gymnastics Academy team from Sri Lanka has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing a Silver Medal at the prestigious NADA Aerobics Gymnastics Academy International Championships held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Competing in the Open Category against elite gymnasts from across the region, the eight-member squad demonstrated exceptional skill, artistry, and athletic precision.
The medal-winning team comprised Thanura Rasanja Perera (Defence College), Dinuthee Weerasinghe, Ruth Ranali, Ovinka Alanki, Methuki Tisara (St. Paul’s Girls School), Punsara Shwethadi (Helena Balika Vidyalaya), Senethmi Usara, and Senudi Dahamsa. Their synchronized routines captivated judges and spectators alike in the highly competitive international field.
Under the expert guidance of Head Coach Mr. Ravindra Mendis and Assistant Coach Ms. Surali Dilisha Perera, the team’s months of dedicated training culminated in this historic achievement for Sri Lankan gymnastics. The coaches’ commitment to developing international-standard athletes has proven instrumental in this success.
“This medal reflects the incredible dedication and passion of our young gymnasts,” said Coach Mendis following the competition. “The experience gained at this international level is invaluable for their continued development and Sri Lanka’s growing presence in world gymnastics.”
