Sri Lanka’s Lividul Witharana excels as a creative force at New York Fashion Week
Nevindee Amarasinghe

When Sri Lankan content creator Lividul Witharana first entered New York Fashion Week in February 2024, he was there to document the story of a single brand. Less than two years later, he has become a creative force at New York Fashion Week, capturing the vision of designers from more than 30 countries across four consecutive seasons.
Lividul’s path to Fashion Week began in Colombo, where he founded RADICALZ Private Limited and built a reputation for visual storytelling that resonated deeply within Sri Lanka’s creative community. By late 2023, he relocated to New Jersey, pursuing opportunities in the creative and marketing industries.
During that first Fashion Week, he got the chance to create a documentary for one participating brand and stood out with his dedication and quality of work. By September 2024, Runway 7 appointed him as an in-house content creator, a role offered to less than 15 individuals out of hundreds in New York’s competitive creative industry.
This position placed him at the heart of the action, working closely with designers, models, makeup artists, and creative teams from across the globe. Lividul was able to successfully document every aspect of the raw, unfiltered energy that makes Fashion Week extraordinary. His work highlighted upcycling brands breathing new life into discarded materials, body-positivity campaigns challenging industry norms, and sustainability-driven collections reshaping the future of fashion.
“NYFW has been an incredible platform for me to grow as a content creator and connect with some of the most inspiring people in fashion,” says Lividul. “Every encounter with a designer, model, or artist isn’t just work – it’s a shared story, an exchange of passion that makes the runway so much more than a stage.”
Despite his success in New York, Lividul remains firmly connected to his roots. He continues to support Sri Lankan talent by offering post-production services and creating opportunities for collaboration. His ultimate vision is to see Sri Lankan designers take their place on the New York Fashion Week runways. “I want to see Sri Lankan designers walking these runways, and I want my beautiful island nation to feel as proud as I do today with the love and recognition I receive in the U.S.,” he added.
Back home, RADICALZ continues under new management, with Lividul serving in an advisory role. His day-to-day focus, however, remains in New York’s creative industry, where he finds purpose in telling stories that define the fashion world.
